Grow-your-own organoids
Age suitable for: All ages
Do you want to learn how we grow organoids, or mini organs, in the lab, and what they are used for?
Come and learn how to make organoids by 'growing your own'. You will gather stem cells, culture them using growth medium, and then view them under the microscope to identify which type of organoid you have grown.
Once you know how to grow organoids, learn about how they are used. Give cell replacement therapy a try, by replacing the damaged islets in the pancreas with healthy lab grown islets to treat diabetes.
